HOW TO GET TO LEFKADA
Via Car, Bus or Ferry Boat:
Lefkada is the only island which can be visited by car, from the Greek Mainland, without ferry boats by using the floating bridge connecting the island with Akarnia. There is also a bus service from Athens direct to the island. By ferry, the two small ports of Vasiliki and Nidri connect the island of Lefkada to the nearby island of Kefalonia. From Vasiliki there are boats twice daily into the picturesque harbour of Fiskardo and boats from Nidri operate daily to both Fiskardo on Kefalonia and Frikes on the island of Ithaca. There are also main ferry services to the island of Corfu.
Aeroplane:
The island of Lefkada has no airport and therefore has no direct flights. However, with the airport of Preveza, on mainland Greece is a mere 15 minutes away from Lefkada Town and international charter flights operate throughout May to October from most European cities. There are also daily flights from Athens Airport operating year round.
